2nd International Conference on the Application of Physical Modelling to Port and Coastal Protection

Following the successful CoastLab06 held in Porto-Portugal, the Second International Conference on the Application of Physical Modelling to Port and Coastal Protection – CoastLab08, will take place from July 2nd through 5th, 2008 at the Faculty of Engineering of the Technical University of Bari, Italy. This conference will provide a general forum for enhancing interdisciplinary interactions, dialogue, and cooperation among scientists interested in physical coastal modelling, as well as laboratory equipment suppliers.

All interested persons are invited to submit abstracts for consideration. Original papers on physical model experiments both on scale and in prototype are invited. Practical papers detailing the design, construction, instrumentation and results of model tests, as well as theory, measurement, analysis and modelling for the following topics are encouraged.

cerchio Waves: generation, theories, prediction;
cerchio Structures: types, interactions and structural responses;
cerchio Measuring Techniques: pressures, velocities, forces;
cerchio Erosion/Scour: assessment, control;
cerchio Scale Effects: control, techniques;
cerchio Natural Hazards Assessment.

All abstracts should be send via web upload.
Deadline for receipt of abstracts is January 31, 2008.
